Why do people love Santa Claus more than God? Santa has so many attributes of God, but even though he is a fictional character, some people prefer the idea of Santa over choosing to have faith in God, who is real…. I will tell you the main reason why that’s true.
People consider Santa more tangible because he appears as a man—albeit a magical creature —but they can wrap their minds around this kind, jolly figure who seems to care for them so much that he travels the world over with presents— all in one glorious night. He knows our names and whether we have been naughty or nice.
As people grow older, they accept that Santa isn’t real. They’re okay with it, but they make the mistake of putting God Almighty in that same box.
People think of God like a figment of one’s imagination. They don’t like how mysterious He is, but God says if we seek Him with our whole heart, we will surely find Him. He doesn’t lie. He isn’t just for Christmas time either.
He’s always with us, even when we may not notice His presence. He doesn’t just know our names, but He knows the count of every hair on our heads. He knew us in our mother’s womb.
Maybe that’s the real reason newborns smile randomly. Their memories of seeing God are still fresh and vivid…
If we can support believing in Santa for a place in time, then I encourage everyone to try believing in the God who lasts forever.
