
Had it not been for my niece, Robin Thomas, I probably would still be in the same spot, 3 yrs ago. She got me inspired and helped me get both my businesses off the ground. She is my biggest inspiration. It’s never to late to step out your box. I know it’s hard and scary but to do what you love in life is one big rush and the happiness flows right along with it. Be the change you want to see, don’t keep putting off today what you can choose to do and love tomorrow. .
What made you decide to make cooking more than a hobby?
M.C.-Growing up, my family had a gathering, every weekend. Cooking, talking, laughing, hanging with family. We had Sunday dinners as well. I always knew my destination was to be a cook/Baker.. When family got together, I would rather be in the kitchen, looking and learning rather than outside playing.
What do you love about cooking?
M.C.- Cooking gives me a piece of mind. The piece you can’t get anywhere else. It’s like my, calgon, I get to cooking and it’s, lift off..
What advice would you give to younger generations who aren’t sure if they should try to make a hobby a career?
M. C.-Give you a chance. You never know what you are capable of but always remember, if you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail. Just go for what you know. If you don’t give you a chance, no one else will.
Do you believe that cooking feeds your soul? If so,why?
M. C.Yes, of course it does. Cooking to me is like a woman who absolutely loves to shop. It gives me life especially when it’s a new recipe. Excitement isn’t the word. Lol
Have you had to handle situations where someone goes out of their way to delay or stop your dreams, if so how do you handle that?
M. C.Not in any way. No one can stop my dreams but me. If someone tries to get in my way, I will fix that issue cause I will not be stripped of that in which I love to do.
What’s your favorite thing to make?
M. C.- Hm. My favorite is anything new but my most requested foods are my homemade meatballs, lasagna, chicken salad,Tuna or my niece loves my fried cabbages.
Do you have a favorite memory making a dish for someone?
M. C.- Not really. I learned to cook at, 14. It was my sister and I. Mother worked all the time so I decided to try my luck one day and found out, I come from a long line of great cooks but, I will say this, I do enjoy showing/working with my daughter when she wants to learn to cook something new. I love that.

What’s your motivation to continue to do what you love to do?
M. C.- I am my own motivation. The money is great but I really love what I do. They say if you get a job that you love, you’ll never work a day in your life and it’s true. Cooking is me and I am, Cooking..
Where do you see yourself if 5 years?
M. C.- In, 5 years, I want to see me in my own, topas bar. A place where the atmosphere is welcoming, the people are happy as well as myself. I see me still thriving and doing what I love. Building my empire.
